CHILDHOOD

The youngest of three, Stacy joined the Dougall clan on the 1st of May 1988. Born to a musician father and a journalist mother, she and her siblings had an unconventional childhood. Despite living in a large house, going on the occasional holiday trips abroad, and attending pretigious schools, the three Dougall children learned early on the true value of money. Even though they were born into it, they were not certainly entitled to it. With both parents growing up from meager circumstances and eventually making a name for themselves, the Dougall children understood deep down that it was for their best interests. It, nevertheleess, did not make them feel any less like their peers. While it was a hard adjustment for her older siblings, Stacy just took it as a challenge. For a girl who was already marching to the beat of her own drum, she could not care less about confirming to social norms, much less the expectations of being born to relatively affluent parents. It mattered more to her when she could spend time with her father, with whom she was closest, yet saw rarely.

EARLY BEGINNINGS

Performance was in her genes. Even though her oldest brother shied away from the limelight, Stacy managed to follow her sister's footsteps, albeit by accident. At school, she understandably excelled in music, playing piano, and dabbled in dance, particularly ballet. Acting came in later, when, in her teens, she accompanied her best friend to audition for the Youngblood Theatre Company. Hearing her best friend's experience at the company inspired her to join a year later. From then on, there was no turning back.

ACTING

Stacy was sixteen when she landed her first television role in one of the longest-running series, Casualty. It was her first breakthrough to television and the thrill of it excited her and left her reeling for more. Soon after, she was able to land her first film role alongside Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett in Notes on a Scandal. Although it was a minor role, it helped secure another role for her in Atonement, even before she graduated from Latymer Upper School. She would have foregone higher education, but it was her mother's insistence that she went on to pursue a higher degree. Her supposed first year at Guildhall School was an eventful one, which meant she had to defer until the following year, as her schedule allowed. In 2006, she saw the release of Notes, as she began filming Atonement, as well as working on another project, Ballet Shoes where she was one of the leads. It would have been easy to forego her education, but in the following years she managed to juggle both school and work, limiting herself to minor roles as she focused on her training. She finished her studies in 2011, where she also enjoyed seeing the results of her two most recent projects. She was intent on finding work wherever she could, even if it meant hopping across the pond for a more regular prospect. A year later, her hard work paid off as she joined the cast of the live-action superhero series, Arrow. Not forgetting her roots in films, she continues to work supporting roles, waiting for the day when she would be in the lead again.

RELATIONSHIPS

For the most part, Stacy had a good relationship with her family. Stacy got along well with her siblings, especially her older sister, Laurelyn. She looked up to her, as any younger sibling did to an older sister. She also managed to maintain a good relationship with her parents, even after the divorce. Although she initially resented her mother for keeping custody of her and effectively separating her from her father, she eventually grew out of it and visited her father whenever he was in town. Though their bond remained strong over the years, it is currently strained due primarily to his choice of a very young girlfriend, who is several years younger than her.

Stacy was no stranger to romantic relationships. But her first foray into a relationship with another actor, Desmund Rowe, came as a surprise. They started out as co-stars in Chatroom and a budding friendship turned into something more after a couple of dates. Like two peas in a pod, they got along swimmingly and rather effortlessly. It was little wonder that they stayed together for more than two years. The relationship was serious enough that they were both contemplating marriage, up to the point where it all fell apart. Both young and ambitious, Stacy could not fault him for wanting to further his career, which ultimately came in between them. More specifically, it became more of a priority for Desmund. At the time she resented that his focus has shifted, but it only made her do the same for herself. The two grew apart at the tail end of their relationship and has only reconnected with each other in late 2014.

PHILANTROPHY

Stacy became involved in advocacy and philantrophy when she was in secondary school. The additional experience she gained from briefly volunteering abroad left an indelible impact on her. She supports Build Africa, and helps raise funds for the charity as best as she could, by participating in the UK challenges.
